Council Financial Initiatives – October 2016
Council is introducing the following initiatives to redress falling membership numbers/falling income and to be competitive with other golf clubs in our immediate, and the wider North Down, area.
1 Initiative to attract new members.
25% discount on all playing category membership rates in Year 1.
The 25% reduction will be given to the new member on renewal of their membership in Year 2
A further 10% reduction for Year 2 will be given on renewal of membership in Year 3.
We are particularly focusing on existing GUI members with club subscription renewal dates in January 2017.
2 Initiative for existing Knock Members.
Introduce a new adult playing member and receive a 25% reduction in your subscription renewal in Year 2, provided the new member renews their subscription.
3 A new category of House Membership.
House Membership to include 10 rounds of golf priced at £200.
4 Initiatives for Sports Club Membership.
The membership applicant must be bona fide members of a sports club who plays autumn/winter sports (e.g. football, hockey, rugby) and can therefore only play spring/summer golf.
Age < 40 years old. Period 1.04.17 to 31.10.17 Cost £600.
Play outside of this period will be charged per round at the playing with a member rate.
Our target for this category would be 50 members which would generate an additional £30,000 for the club. 5 Sports Clubs -10 members from each.
If an individual sports club can get 10 members from their club to join Knock, the Sports Club will be given one free Sports Category membership for one year which they can use for fund raising purposes.
5 Increase our Open Competitions
Hold an Open competition weekly (Thursday) on either a play only basis or a play and dine basis.
6 Attract more people to play golf.
Come and try the course and catering £15 per person anytime including after 1.30pm on Saturdays. (Subject to time sheet availability)
7 New Members Golf Lessons.
Two Free Lessons on payment of annual membership with Ricky Whitford PGA Coach.
