A Beautiful Parkland Course
Knock Golf Club is a beautiful parkland course which has a wonderful variety of large and small trees, with many deep bunkers and a river coming into play in front of the 8th and 18th greens.
The 453, yard Par-4 sixth is considered to be one of the best holes on the course.
The hole features what is reputed to be the oldest araucaria “Monkey-Puzzle” in the British Isles, said to be over 100 years old it stands at over 70 feet tall and is still thriving. This hole is particularly attractive in the spring when the Cherry Blossoms are in full bloom.
The Top 100 Golf Courses is the only independent website dedicated to the best courses in the world. On their site they regularly review and reorder the courses.In October 2015 they updated their Northern Ireland course rankings and have listed their top 25 in NI. This is the 6th revision since 2006 .Council is delighted to say that Knock is a new entry at number 22. SOPHIE LAMB WINS STROKE-PLAY TITLE BY 2 SHOTS Sophie Lamb, an 18-year-old Lancashire lass and member of Clitheroe Golf Club, scored the biggest win of her fledgling career today. She is the 2016 Ladies British Open Amateur Stroke-play Champion after coming to the front for the first time over the final round of the 72-hole tournament at Knock Golf Club, Belfast. Sophie, who helped England win the Home Internationals title at Conwy, North Wales last month, has been knocking on the door of a big win as an individual and finally it opened for her. Read More >
