Summer Competitions

All Competitions are shown in Fixture List.

Main weekly Competition for male members is played over both Friday and Saturday to accommodate 6 day members.

Draw for Saturday Summer Tee times generally held before end of March and will be advised on Notice Board.  (new members joining after Draw should contact Professional – should be able to be made up)

Captain’s Day and President’s Day

Separate draws will be advised on Notice Board.

Knock out Competitions

 Challenge Cup and Victory Cup are Singles Match Play Competitions.

Challenge Cup – holder + best 63 players from qualifying stroke play.

Victory Cup – Best Gross + best 15 Net from qualifying.

Summerfield Cup (male pairs)  and Mixed Cup (male/female mixed pair)  are separate 4 Ball Better Ball Competitions  –  advised on Notice Board.

Summer Hat Competition

Runs every Wednesday through April to September  – generally played over maximum 16 holes – no tee time booking required – just turn up – if on your own you can be made up.

It’s meant to be a fun competition with decent prizes with chance to meet other members and hopefully make new friends. Prize giving takes place after everyone in – but no need to be present to collect prizes.

Winter Competition

 Winter League is popular; keenly contested and has been running for years.

Entry is advertised on Notice Board – entry fee includes the cost of attendance at Winter League Dinner at end of winter.

Players are split in to teams of 10 – depending on entries normally around 25 – 30 teams.

Played over 16 holes – players can play any day of week but there is a draw for Saturday tee times (restricted playing time because of light)

Depending on weather – ideally played over 20 weeks – individual best 10 cards to count.

Overall individual winner;  plus handicap category and Team prizes.  All prizes presented at Winter League Dinner.
